Who this applies to

This policy covers Farleigh Point, a trading name of a sole trader operating from the United Kingdom, and the website at https://farleighpoint.com. For questions about anything below, or to exercise any of the rights listed, email hello@farleighpoint.com.

For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation, Farleigh Point is the data controller for information submitted through this website.

What is collected

Information you send deliberately

When you complete the enquiry form or the website audit form, the fields you fill in are submitted. That is typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, website address and whatever you write in the message field. Nothing is collected that you do not type.

Technical information collected automatically

The hosting provider records standard server logs for security and reliability, which include IP addresses and browser information. These are retained by the host for a short period and are not used to build any profile of you.

If visitor analytics are in use on this site, they are a privacy friendly service that counts page views without cookies and without tracking individuals between websites. No advertising or cross site tracking scripts are used.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own, and no consent banner is shown because there is nothing to consent to. Fonts are served from this website rather than from a third party font service, so loading a page does not hand your IP address to anyone else.

Why your information is used

• To reply to your enquiry and discuss the work you have asked about. The lawful basis is legitimate interests, or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
• To carry out and deliver a website audit you have requested.
• To keep business records where there is a legal obligation to do so, such as tax records relating to work carried out.

Your details are not used to send marketing you did not ask for, and are never sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

Who else can see it

A small number of service providers process data on behalf of Farleigh Point in order for the site and the business to function:

• The website host, which receives and stores form submissions and keeps server logs.
• The email provider used to send and receive correspondence.
• Accounting and invoicing software, where you become a client.

How long it is kept

• Audit requests and the resulting reports are deleted within twelve months.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Form submissions are transmitted over that same encrypted connection and access to them is protected by two factor authentication. No system is perfect, but data is only ever collected where there is a reason to, which is the most effective protection available.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will be raised directly rather than left here to be discovered.
